Purists will claim that it is not a true CVT as it only has a large number of possible gear ratios instead of an infinite number, but functionally speaking it is exactly what it says in the name.

The inventor of the multi-ratio gear (patent pending), the 3D involute and the New-CVT (patent pending) is Geert Poelman, a Dutch national with English roots born in Groningen and currently living in Milano (Italy). He is a biologist with a broad scientific basis, member of NOVU, and has additional expertise in mechanics, optics, electronics and software. Scientific research with minirhizotrons is conducted with one of his inventions. He is currently helping companies to solve their problems. And as one would expect from the inventor of the New-CVT, these problems tend to be the really big and challenging ones. Names of companies and projects solved are kept secret.
